Food culture in Mumbai is vivid. Be it Maharashtrian, Gujarati, Parsi, Irani, Persian, South-Indian and what not, there are a plenty of dishes to eat in Mumbai with startling aromas, flavors and textures. Let’s know about some of the iconic cafes and eateries in Mumbai.

1) Kyani and co:

Being one of the oldest cafes in Mumbai, this Irani café is still one of the most visited eateries in the city. Many beautiful photographs from the British India Era are hung on the walls of this café to give it a vintage look. This legendary café is famous for its Bun Maska, Mawa cakes, Keema Pav and Scrambled Eggs Toast. The Kyani and co café is situated in Old Bombay. You can complete your meal with their famous Pallonji’s soda drinks.

2) Prakash :

This restaurant serves some marvellous Maharashtrian dishes. The place is situated in Dadar. It is one of the renowned restaurants in the Gullys of Dadar. They are famous for their Kothimbir Wadis, Sabudana Wadas, Missal Pav and so on. You can also try their Kokum Sherbat ( Kokum juice) and Piyush (A milk based sweet drink).

3) Hearsch Bakery:

Hearsch Bakery is one of the oldest bakeries in Bandra, Mumbai. The locals love their cheap and delicious snacks. The most famous dish to try is their Chicken burger. There are many vegetarian options too. Do try their puffs and cakes.

4) Sassanian Restaurant:

This place serves some amazing Parsi and North Indian cuisine. Situated near the Dhobi Talao this place has completed over 100 years. It serves some delicious Dhansak Pulao rice, bun maska, puffs and sandwiches.

5) Baba Falooda:

Craving for something sweet? Well, Baba Falooda is a perfect paradise for people with a sweet tooth. Falooda is an Indian version of a Persian dessert. This place is situated in the heart of Mumbai- Mahim. They have a vast menu serving some amazing ice-creams, kulfis, faloodas, etc. They are known for their Special falooda and Rabri falooda.
